Default Cheapest mod - $8 to take your top off

This is by far the cheapest mod out there - softop removal screws. Thumb screws so you don't have to search for a Torx tool to remove the top.

On eBay, Upper Bound Storefront - Soft Top Fast Removal Screws Jeep Wrangler 2007/8 JK. $8 and includes shipping.

Not as cheap as drilling the side mirrors to drain the water out, or buying a rattlecan and spraying your vent rings, or flipping your rearview mirror upsidedown to increase rear visibility, or buying velcro straps to keep your seatbelts from "flapping" at speed. In fact, you can accomplish all the aforementioned mods for < $8, assuming you already own a drill.

Good idea, though. If I didn't already own Torx driver extensions for my ratchet (they live in the Jeep full-time, in the storage cubby in the rear floor), I would seriously consider these.

While the soft top screws are a cheap way to do it, I had to go with the complete quick disconnect kit. The nut inside the plastic connector broke loose and would spin inside. These things are super simple to use and are very solid metal. Way more solid than the original plastic connectors. I was really hesitant to spend $50 but I am really pleased so if anyone else is looking at them don't hesitate. I am not the seller and have no association with them but it is a great product so I thought I'd let fellow jeepers know.

Removing the softtop all the way from the jeep if your not using it , and there is no rain in sight is a good idea . I notice some rubbing on the softtop from just driving around with it fold up..

I'd rather leave the torx in, I thought about getting the quick disconnects BUT if you are parked somewhere for hours it just makes it to easy for someone to steal, whats quick release really saving you 5min?
