Default Northridge OME Lift & 35's

I had the Northridge OME lift put on my 2 door 09 Rubicon and after adding my 35" BFG Mud Terrains my rear tires get VERY VERY close to the front end of the well (actually the stock rock guards).

Anyone else having this problem? Does it look too close to you??

If you experience any rubbing you may need to trim you rock guard a couple of inches and trim the pinch seam.

That is pretty much standard...without seeing the amount of cavity to the rear of that tire. Most people with 35's or larger end up clipping or BFHing the rear pinch seam and shortening the rock rails. There are a few write ups in the JK write ups area.

It's not a problem with the lift.

It's a problem lots of folks have with bigger tires. Look around and you'll see tons of posts about cutting or folding back the pinch seam and cutting an inch or two off the rubi rails.

As you raise the height the rear axle moves forward because the contol arms are fixed in length. The front axle will back for the same reason. It is not uncommon to need to trim the rock rail and pinch seam. Your other option is to install longer rear control arms to recenter you axle.

You really don't have a problem you are just seeing the result of making changes from stock.

It looks like it will hit with any compression but I guess we will see.

I am looking for the writeups on trimming the rials and pinch seam with no luck. If anyone has the link I would appreciate it...

Here is one that I found. Trimming Rubicon sliders
A sawzall would work great on both the rock rails and pinch seam. I cut my pinch seam off at an angle then cleaned and painted it to prevent premature rust.

Here is a pic of the whole rear wheel well. Lots of space in the back...
