Default Need advice on a dream build daily driver...

Sorry in advance for the wall of text...

So I've been looking at all the ways I can put myself into debt for life making my Jeep the way I want it. As a disclaimer, this is working towards a dream build, and i doubt I'll ever sink the necessary cash, but I found some great options and want to know if you guys think they can all go together and still be a "daily driver" for all intent purposes and be wicked off the road at the same time.

Ok, so I have an unlimited JK X. Lookin at doing the RIPP supercharger kit: $5k
rippmods.com/RIPP_Supercharger_for_JEEP_07_08_Wrangler_JK_p/2007-sds-1.htm"]http://www.rippmods.com/RIPP_Supercharger_for_JEEP_07_08_Wrangler_JK_p/2007-sds-1.htm
Because that kit not only bumps the power giving me more leeway in my diff gearing, but gets some of the fuel economy back that the rest of the mods tend to steal.

On lift, I have some questions that need answering. with the RC 4" lift I have now, if I got some slightly longer adjustable control arms for it, and got the wheels centered better under the wheel wells, could I run 37"s and still flex ok? I don't want to go much taller in the suspension if I don't have to. If cutting would be necessary, is it just cutting in the flares and maybe a little fender well, or would I have to cut body?
With the longer arms and adjustments, thinkin driveshafts might be needed too? I figure about $1k-$1.5k for all that if it'll work.

the wheels & 37's $2k-ish

I'd plan to put a d44 up front (I know people that say I would want the D60's, but as I understand the d44's should handle 37's fine, and I'd only have to swap one axle instead of two) and put 4.56 gears in the diffs (maybe 4.88 have to research this some more) which maintains mileage on the road thanks to the extra power from the SC, without dogging out. not sure how much the d44 and gearing will cost because I'd hope to find a d44 take off out of a jk rubi that somone upgraded. Anyone got a ballpark for this?

To help with the slightly numericly lower diff gearing than a lot of people on 37's run, I'm looking at an atlas 4 speed t-case. It's a 2 stick on the fly transfer case that has 1.0, 2.0, 2.72, and 5.44:1 gearing, plus you can run 2hi, 4hi, 2lo rear, 2lo front, and 4lo. Tcase is about $3,000

Bumpers, tire carrier, winch, rock sliders, aftermarket skids, sport cage, all together probably another $3k-$4k unless I find good take offs, or go with custom bumpers.

In all, about as much money as my JK actually cost in the first place, going into mods. So now that my wall of text is done, comments, opinions, heckling? Things I left out that I'd need? Lookin for any help I can get, wanna know if it would be worthwhile (performance/driving wise. I know that its nowhere near the best beast for that kind of money), and maybe even some ideas for budget ways to get some of the bits.

In Automatic Trans:
37's + 5.13's (minimum 5.38's preferably) + RIPP Supercharger =

If 6speed trans:
37's + 4.88 (minimum) + RIPP Supercharger =

5.7 hemi = 340 hp

S/c (100 hp) + say... intake (5 hp), wider exhaust (15 hp... there's a s/c installed!) and chip (20 hp) = 340 hpish, maybe even more.

Cost: S/c is less than half (1/3 perhaps?). Just the hemi kit by itself costs as much as the s/c, and it doesn't include the engine cost! S/c installation labor is much cheaper too.

Horsepower is good, but what about low end torque? That is what a Hemi will give you where the SCs tend to fail.

lmao!!! 340hp from the v6? No way. I think you are guessing about 100hp high.

The RIPP SC gives just about 100hp (according to RIPP). And the exhaust won't give you 15 (as has been proven by many people on here). The intake in a stock setup actually gives nothing. As I recall the RIPP comes with its own intake. With all that, you ned up with just about 300 brake HP. Or about 245 at the wheels with an automatic. And thats pushing what the minivan engine will do. With a few mods the Hemi will be at 400hp. There is really no comparison.

Any "dream JK build" w/o a HEMI is severly lacking.

If ya want the s/c that much, then put it on the HEMI!

the 5.7L Hemi makes 12more lb/ft or torque 300rpm earlier

340HP is flywheel HP (HP measured at the crank before the drive train)... A 260-REAR WHEEL HP V6 JK is making roughly 340HP at the crank... that same JK is producing 277lb/ft of torque (6spd)

The only exhaust that we tested that made solid HP from low RPM to redline is the MBRP, 11MORE to be exact.

I have owned both, so I will chime in here. The RIPP system was really nice, and the guys were great to work with. If money is of concern, this is a great way to get good performance out of the 3.8.

BUTTTTT,

Now I have 5.7 Hemi, and there is no comparison. I have an automatic, and I hear the 6 speed with the SC is really the way to go if you are thinking SC, but if you are staying with an automatic and want torque and HP all the way through the rpm range, and have something that is casual to drive and feels stock (with the exception of the loud rumble coming out of your tailpipe), then the HEMI is almost twice as good.

Disclaimer....I live in Colorado= High Altitude and again, had an automatic. I am sure it is different for everyone and I don't want to take anything away from RIPP as they have a great product and are a great company.
