Default Possible to rhino line/line x mopar chrome side steps?

So I bought a set of Mopar chrome side steps over a year ago and now I'm slowly trying to dechrome my jk as much as possible. Now the chrome is fading/discoloring from a bad salty winter and I think selling them is gonna be a pain and I'd probably get jack for them....

Would it be possible to line x them with alot of sanding and prep work involved or would the X just look terrible or fall off?

Thanks.

I would think you could just take a wire wheel or sanding disc to them and then get them sprayed. Should be enough prep. If the chrome is REALLY peeling off you might have to strip them down more.

I would have them sandblasted. As long as the operater knows what they're doing and remembere they are only aluminum, they can do it. Cheap, too.

I had the Mopar plastic steps Rhino lined. No issues with salt after 2 winters. Should be fine.
