Am I forgetting anything
OK after a year of being stock I'm finally taking the plunge and lifting my 2 door 2008 rubicon 6 speed. I'm about to start ordering everything and want to be sure i'm not missing anything.
Teraflex 3" with full arms without shocks
Bilstein 5100 shocks
17x8 wheels with 4.5" backspacing (haven't decided on which ones yet)
35x12.50x17 BFG KM2s
Rugged Ridge front winch bumper
Rugged Ridge rear bumper with tire carrier
Superchips flashpaq (for recalibrating speedo modifying tpms thresholds)
AEV jack base (so I can use my stock jack to change a flat).
I'm not clear if the teraflex 3" kil with full arms comes with track bars or not. If not I'm going to do front and rear track bars as well. Does anyone know offhand?
I'm hoping to get by for a while without doing drive shafts or gears. Is that reasonable or am I going to have to do driveshafts right away?
Anything else I'm missing?

Sounds like a good start, dont think your missing much. Get adj. trackbars front and rear if they dont come with the kit. Sadley I am afraid your going to end up getting new driveshafts sooner than you think. 3" lift is about the limit for stock DS on a 2dr, but those TeraFlex 3" springs are going to give you closer to 4" of lift (more initialy, but they will settle). Run the stockers till they break, just dont be surprised when you have to buy new DS, weather that is 5 miles or 5000 miles from now.
Post picks of your JK once you get everything, that will be one sweet ride!

Thanks guys.
I've got the rugged ridge front bumper and superchips flashpaq ordered. Once those come and I slap them on I'll order the rear bumper and tire carrier and then start ordering the lift/wheels/tires.
I know on the autos they tear up the driveshaft boots on the trans. What is the mode of failure on the 6 speeds? I won't be doing any hard core wheeling initially. Are they going to give me some warning before they fail or am I going to hit the gas at a green light and drop a drive shaft?
Brake lines aren't included in the teraflex kit? Do I need front and rears?
The good news on gears is I crunched the numbers. With 35" tires 4:10s and a 6 speed the resulting final effective ratio is still slightly better than 3.73s with stock 32" tires. So I can't imagine it will be unliveable for a couple months until I can arrange getting gears installed.
Unless I made a mistake here are my calculations....

You should be just fine with your stock shafts for quite some time with the lift and tire combo you picked. My JK has a very similar combo and it's a 2007 still with the stock shafts. I plan on replacing them when they break.
I also run 35"s with 4.10's and it works just fine! Your calculations are good.
However, like .:eMETAL:. and I mentioned above, adjustable trackbars are a necessity.
You will definitely need at least a front adjustable track bar. The kit comes with the rear bracket which will allow you to retain the stock bar. For good measure, it couldn't hurt to get a rear adjustable as well.
The 3" kit doesn't come with adj trackbars as stated above, but the kit does include a rear TB relo bracket, so all you will need is the front adj TB. Teraflex has one the strongest if not the strongest adj TB in the market.
Also, eventhough the kit includes brake lines and relo brackets for the brake lines I would advise upgrading the brake lines anyways. I use the Crown industries. Check them out. Them come in different colors and lengths. For your set up get the ones for 4" lift.
Good luck!
