Default 37" tires on 17" wheels or on 20" wheels

Which is better: 37" tires on 17" wheels or 37" tires on 20" wheels.

I'm concerned about drivebility on and offroad.

I went with 17 inch wheels. Not only were they cheaper, they provide a lot more tire to conform to obstacles when aired down. As far as driveability on road I dont think that it will be much of a difference. IMO

I'm running 35s now with 17s. Will upgrade to 37s soon. I think they smaller rim is more functional and just looks better on a JK.

I prefer 15s because they are available in load range C (6 ply)--especially on a 2 dr.

17s and larger are often load range E (10 ply) tires that are heavier, stiffer, and designed for lifted 1 ton trucks with towing capacities of 18,000 lbs.

17s and 37s have a balanced look

don't forget that you want more sidewall protection

20s and 37s are not too bad.. but if it was my Jeep I would stick with 17s or get 40" tires and have 20" rims

so I voted for the 17s

17's per your choices, personally I'll go with 16's if I ever get new wheels.
