Default Rough Country 2.5 in. Coil Lift w/ Shocks...

Why is the rough country lift only $330.00? It comes with coils and shocks. When a teraflex kit of the same height is about $670?

Here we go again

Better do a search as the arguments over RC versus TF are as passionate as religion.

I have the RC 2.5 coil lift with shocks on my unlimited Sahara and am very happy with it. You will need to do something with your sway bar links (I asked them for a package deal with their QD's) and you will want to spend $5 on the parts to extend your rear brake bracket (see discussions on fence menders), but beyond that....no problems.

The TF kit is probably more complete, but not sure it is $300 more complete (in only my humble estimation). Both are good companies with good support, both seem to offer good quality.

My 2 cents and worth every nickel (which of course, isn't even one).

TeraFlex offers a much more complete kit, and there shocks are arguably better than the RC ones (though both are a step up from factory). Is it worth the extra 300, i personaly think so. Now I have never seen an RC component fail, and I wont say they are bad, but it seems they really rushed to get a product on the market (coils and shocks...come on, even an idiot knows there is more to a suspension than that). TF put a lot of thought into theres.

Planman, rough countries bump stops are integrated into the shocks, you can actually see them in the photo you posted..

I personally would go Teraflex over any other lift, but thats my opinion, I run their stuff and I am very biased.

To the RC add:

$58 for extended bumstops
$34 for a rear trackbar bracket
$60 for longer swaybar links
$10 for rear brakeline extension brackets
$50 for shipping from 2 vendors (RC and TF for the extra parts)
$330 for the RC kit

and, the RC kit is about $542 when similarlly equipped.

vs. $680 for the Teraflex kit.

So, the difference is about $138 when compared apples to apples.

So, you'd have to decide whether it is worth $138 to deal with 2 different vendors and warranties, or whether the Teraflex shocks and springs are $138 better than the RC shocks and springs.

With all the support from Teraflex on this forum, I decided to go with Teraflex when I buy new (un-used) products.

I have their long-arm kit on my wife's JK, their 2.5" BB on my JK, and their belly-up TC skid, driveshaft, all 8 control rms, SYE, and rear trackbar on my son's TJ.
No bump stops needed (In the shock). I did not need brake line extensions (even at full droop, there is room in the brake lines) and there really isn't a need for the rear track bar bracket. Add RC Quick Disco's for $50. Dave @ Northridge ships for free, so I have $380 vs. $680. I saved $300 and spent it on a 10k pound winch.

What is the rear track bar bracket "supposed" to do? Why would you need a bracket? please explain what this little bracket does that teraflex charges $300 for? lol
