Thanks for the positive response RedneckJeep, that's a big part of the motivation for this event - and some of our wheelin Jedi's have done some awesome work putting together classes that even "newbie's" with several years experience will enjoy and learn from.
I'd also note, while that's the idea behind the 101, a lot of more experienced guys who have been to this event in the past with 2,3,4, even 6 or more years wheeling experience said they picked up a lot from the 201 class. Just a plug that this is not *just* a newbie event. We're splitting into two groups, and we've got a lot of good info for intermediate/experienced drivers as well.
More advance events at past iterations which you are likely to see again:
- setting a bead with ether
- lay over a rig and go through how to right it with multiple winches
- lowered a disabled rig down a hill/obstacle manually (without a winch, using strap and/or come along)
- axle shaft swap
- welding with batteries for field repair
- field repair for a broken radiator
The 201 does not have as "set" of an agenda directly because it depends on the experience of the group who show up, but all have gave great reviews at past iterations.
Hope you can make the drive up from Georgia. That's where I started wheeling, got my Jeep in '98 when I was living in Hinesville near Savannah.

This would be nice down in the South. I know I have a lot to learn and I'm sure there are many others in my position.
