Default stupid rain in my jeep

so i figured i was gonna be ok with the top down all night but i wasnt. i had about 2-3 inches of water sitting in the bottom, so i pulled out the carpet on the drivers side passengers side and back floor and pulled my plugs and got most of it out then i got a towel and soaked up most of what was left. is that all i gotta do and it'll be just fine once its dry?

Yep, you should be good.....If your radio got wet I would let it dry a bit before turning it on. My electronics were a little wacko till they dried out.

Yea "Stupid Rain", hehe sorry just had to go there.
I did the same thing last year.
I used my shop vac. on the carpets, then removed them, and vac'd out the Jeep. While all the carpets were hanging in the sun, I took the time to wipe down the entire flooring, then after all was dry, I put a good coat of wax on the exposed floor. After the carpets were dry, I sprayed with Lysol, and vac'd again. No problems here.
BTW, don't forget to remove your cargo area floorboard, jack, and anything you got in there, and get the water out of there also.
After putting everything back in I gave the carpets a good dousing with Fabrie.
The wife was happy again.

That happens. That's why you bought a Jeep and not a Land Rover... well that and capability.

im not really to worried about messin the seats up or anything im more worried about the bottom rusting out and it smelling like mildew cause if it smells my girlfriend isn't gonna want to ride in it and she'll want to drive and thats terrifying. i feel like i need to get a big yellow helmet when she drives.

Dude...Since you have a soft top, just flip it over at night but dont latch it. Right now its monsoon season here and you never know when its gonna rain. I usually roll with the top down but at night i just flip it over to stop most of the rain getting inside. Only takes about 30 sec to do.

My JK got wet for the first time last week and my electronics (airbag light, horn) were a bit weird at first too, but seem to be OK now that dry... I think it was the clockspring in the horn being wet.
