Default air scoop cowl placement.

I am getting the air scoop and the sales dude said the open part goes toward the window. I was thinking that one gets more air if the opening is facing forward. The sales dude said you get more air if it faces the window and you would not get any rain into it. This did not make sence to me, what do you all think?

Default Yep

Towards the window! It works on a vacuum created by a low pressure air pocket.

I kind of have the urge to flip it over, fill it with paint and start covering a wall.

Are there much of a benefit with these things? Do you like them?

Thanks for the pic's xerofall. Looking at the pic's I can not see how more air can get in, still. I understand the vacuum concept. The wiper is right there, and it is so close to the window, I do not see how the vacuum will be created with these two obstacles. This might not be a scientific, but I have rainx on the windshield and the rain is blown off to the sides, the water does not go up or down.

As for benies, I just wanted to force more air in the cabin on cooler days, so I don't have to run the air so often. Where I live, it can be 65-70 and the sun hitting you is hot and the UV will burn you. But the air can be very cool. I was going to place the scoop on, and then get some of these filters that one can place in your home heater vents that are on the floor. There is a netting (of some sort) currently under the cowl vent opening. I was going to slip the filter between that, and with the scoop, I will have some filtered air.

Thanks for the explination so far. I guess I am just not getting it for some reason. I still have not gotten it in the mail yet, and then I am going to paint it the color of the jeep, so I got some time to figure it out befor I mount it.

That should really help you off road.

Yeah... it will not help off road. Most likely I will have the top off. But, driving in town, with the top up and my wife who has allergies and can not sit in the sun too long due to health issues, it would be nice to not have to run the air as often.
