Default Help... lift install Emergency

Ok, so i am grinding away at my FT econo kit and hit a few snags,
1. The front Mforce shocks did not have the metal sleeve for the bushings. Had to take sleeve out of an old set laying around.
2. My rear track bar bracket holes do not line up from the factory to the frame. It is about a 1/2 inch off. Has anybody else had this problem? Perhaps i am not doing it correctly?

4 hours my ass.... going on hour 12

Were you able to get the sleeves out of the factory bushings yet? If not, try soaking it with some PB Blaster place a bolt of equal diameter on one end of it, place it in a bench vice and in such a way that the sleeve will slip off and then crank down on it.

Yup, you just lifted your Jeep 3" and your track bar will be off. #1 - did you install the relocation bracket supplied with the kit? #2 - If you did and are still having problems, have someone push the body of your Jeep in the direction you need to go. This should be enough to get you lined up. If you don't have help, you can use a ratchet strap to crank things in place.

what i am saying is the bracket fits in where it shoud, but the holes that are suppesed to go together are off to mount it. I don't think pushing the body will work...

Also if looking at the rear axle from behind, there is a rubber hose that runs down above to the axle and connects to a nipple that runs into the houising. What is this hose, i accidently pulled it off while lowering my axle and i still cannot get the damn springs in even using a compressor.

Honestly, i wish i had never started this project.

Okay, I think I understand what you are saying. You're talking about the track bar relocation bracket not lining up with the holes. If this is correct, are you saying that you drilled your holes off and want to find out how to get around it? If you aren't following my write-up, you should give it a look to see how things should go.

The hose is just your axle vent tube and can simply be plugged back in once you're done with your lift. As far as not being able to get your springs in, what's holding your axle up? You should be able to drop it quite a bit so long as your shocks, sway bar links, track bar e-brake lines are disconnected.

I am following the write up, it is perfect, but i am saying the hole that comes from FT on the bracket is not lining up with the holes in the frame. I haven
t drilled yet because of this.

I did get the springs in thjough, i was freaked when i saw that tube come out and stopped lowering, but then i though " hey, if its important i already broke so i might aswell keep lowering it!"

LOL!! Okay, well that's one down anyway

Regarding your bracket, when you stick it up inside your frame mount, are you saying it's off side to side? Can you take a pic of what you are doing?

I will post pic soon.
We took the Dremel to the holes and made them slightly oblong just to fit the bolt through, worked out okay... until that strap went on, that thing is also a little screwy but we got it.

10 hours today+ 5 yesterday= 15 hours of misery

But hey, the brake line brackets fit perfect

Well guys, if finished it up today. Worked on it for about 18 hours and that is not even centering the axle or wheel yet. I am not sure how to do these things, and yes i read the write up. I am thinking i may just go too the dealer and have it done, but i am afraid they will say they won't work on it.

Now one question, i installed the adj front trac bar and didn't use the relocation bracket. That is correct right?
And with the relocation bracket on the back, that should center my axle back there right?

Pics will come, its rained all day.

These are the pics of the bracket holes not lining up. No matter what i did the hole wouldn't go. Now, if i flipped the braket and inserted the opposite side, then the holes lined up, it must have went into the drill press backwards. We marked the hole and ground it out with a dremmel tool, fits fine now.
