I took my doors off for the first time and wow it was great. The gas mile sucks the engine power sucks but riding with no top and no doors is priceless. Im glad I got a jeep.

Someone's excited. I can agree it's a blast taking the top and doors off. But to answer your question, it would suck driving with no doors in cold environments, especially if it starts to snow...and even in warm or humid environments you may eventually want the AC.

But yes, it is a blast driving without the doors.

To answer the rhetorical question in the thread title:
Because that's what the buying public wants.
The same goes for stereo, A/C, power steering, etc, etc....

Driving without the doors (or top) rules! But I agree with the others about cold weather... I sure am happy that I have my doors and both tops once winter hits!

In town, my gas mileage is better without the doors. It's a weight thing.
On the highway, my mileage and hearing are both worse. You give, you take.

43c here today, and it can get up to 50+... I think I'll keep my doors on and AC running, thank you! However, in winter the top will come off, and I'll be getting some half/tube doors (I get the feeling I'd get arrested with no doors on the streets)
