Not sure if this is in correct area, but I passed a jk (4-door) that had a third seat facing the rear with seat belts and everything. Just wondering if this was anyone here or if anyone had tried/done this? Would like to know what seat was used , etc.

Search for it in the Show and Tell. Several have done it. The safety has also been debated; don't be discouraged by one sensational picture.

Third Row Seat Thread

Yep, this has been hashed out before. There really is no difference of a 3rd row in un Unlimited then the 2nd row in the 2 door. There's about the same amount of space. Now with that said I don't think I'd be packing the entire family all of the time but that because I have an 8 passenger Ford van. However, I tow my JK behind my rv. I'd like a 3rd row seat so everyone has a seatbelt and a seat. as of now I pile my four kids in the back seat. That can't be good.

I installed a third row seat a few months ago. Search "Little Seats" in the Write-up section. You'll find information and install tips there.

As for safety, I placed my seat rear facing so that the roll-bar provides head/side protection for the 3rd row passengers. The brackets are thick and bolt through the floorpan of the Jeep with a reinforcement bar under that.

BTW, the rear clearance between the seat and the rear of the vehicle is no different than any other SUV with a 3rd row.

 

people with 3rd row seats have a real death wish if you ask me...but yeah, it's been done. I think it should be a crime.
