New front drive shaft????
K, so i hit a twig, and when I say twig, I mean hotdog roasting stick....and it tore the boot on my front drive shaft.
Ofcourse the dealership says that I need to buy a new drive shaft....so I am thinking if I have to buy a whole new one, I might as well go aftermarket no??
What would you guys recommend for me to look into, as a better option to the OEM drive shaft? I have the currie front leveling kit.....but i dont think that matters.
Or should I just order a new one from the dealership?

I think I hit the same twig cause I tore mine to. $25.00 shipped to my door for a new take off from a buddies jeep. I bought another from a jk member cheap also as a spare. I would rather spend a little here and there and keep my lifetime warranty. Unless the aftermarket guys are offering the same.

Did you buy the lifetime warranty? My brother thought he was getting lifetime warranty when he bought his truck and unless you specifically ask to buy the warranty, you only get the 36k mile...He has a 6.7L Dodge...Idk if Jeep is the same way...Do you know if they all come with the warranty?

My boot has been torn for over a year and I haven't had any problems with it yet. I will replace with the aftermarket when I do replace it.
My main reason for not purchasing another one is I may get a bigger lift and I want to make sure I buy only 1.

Well the thing is, up here in the Fall it's moose hunting season....I do wheel in the mud, the water, the sand...muskeg...etc.......so the boot was useful.
But I am thinking, based on what the dealership is going to charge me....going aftermarket is the best option (especially because I am going to get a lift one of these days ...maybe spring)
So, I guess I'll call JE REEL and ask them if they will bolt on, even if I dont have a lift yet.
The one I was looking at was: http://www.quadratec.com/products/52301_9060.htm
I think the only one that needs the lift to fit right is the rear no?? I have no idea...

I tore mine about a month ago and it is still trucking along fine. I will not buy OEM though the boot get hung up on the auto trans skid plate and tears because it is so thick. aftermarket is not as thick.
I now have a Ford Superduty with a lift kit and they dont even question it. Jeep and Dodge have been the worst reputation for warranty, my local dealer is known to have the highest warranty denial / cancelation rate for the company. If they see a programer or any aftermarket products they will try to cancel your warranty. I had to contact my Attorney the last time I had my Jeep in. After so many problems I just got rid of it (good think I kept the old YJ).
