Default 2.5'' teraflex liftkit

this would be my first lift i have ever got and i just want to make sure im not making the wrong decision.
i am debating between the TF 2.5'' and the 3''
i want to run 35s
i dont do much wheeling if at all so its mostly for looks
if i got the 3'' i am under the impression that i would need a new drive shaft in the future
i dont no if i want to be putting alot into it if its just my DD
is there anyway i dont need the DS or is there even a way if i got the 2.5'' that i could buy a leveling kit or something just to give it the extra height?

I have the TeraFlex 2.5" Installed on my 2008 JK Unlimited Sahara. Excellent Kit I have driven coast to coast with it and no vibration or driving concerns ever with it. I would suggest that you go with the 2.5" Teraflex and then install a 1" Body Lift kit (~$97 from Quadratec) and then you would have no concerns at all clearing 35" tires. The 1" Body lift will not impact your drive shaft alignment issues but give you the extra height at cheaper price to easily clear larger tires. - Johnny Blaze

I've been running the 2.5 BB for about six months on my daily driver with no issues at all. I will be installing 34-35" tiers within the next couple of weeks. From all I have read it should be no problem provided that you have the correct wheel back spacing or wheel spacers. As far as the drive shaft goes. I have a 4 door and have had no problems.

I would suggest the 1" body lift and not the 2" for the following reasons.

1) The 2" Body Lift kit will create a much more noticible GAP around your vehicle and the bumpers... The 1" is subtle enough not to be annoying. Check out some pics of this GAP on the forum.
2) My 1" Lift kit did not appear to impact my steering linkage at all. The steering linkage is made to move up and down and I think If I did a 2" I would need to get a new steering extension link. 1" took most of the slack out ot the stock steering linkage. (Connect the steering wheel to the steering box)
3) At 2" I would start being concerned about the connection between the fuel filler pipe work to the fuel tank.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. Trying to decide on TF 2.5 or 3. Does anyone think putting .75" spacers on front above the 2.5 TF coils would cause any driveshaft issues with a 6spd 2dr?

I know the TF 3" kit is closer to 4.25 in the front, which would be about an inch higher than the 2.5 + .75 spacer.

I have the 2.5" Coil TF lift, and a .75 spacer. I just got back from a weekend at Rausch Creek, and on the first hill that had flex, i ripped my front Drive shaft boot. I am now in the process of deciding which new drive shaft to get.

Do you have an auto? because I've heard they're more susceptible to driveshaft issues. Also, do you have a 2dr or 4dr?

That's what I'm worried about though, because if that happened, I would be pissed that I didn't just go ahead and get the TF 3" kit.

I'm now thinking 2.5" lift w/ 1" BL and xenons. That should give me plenty of room for full flex w/ 35's I would think.
