Default BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 (LT285/70R17D1) on stock 08 Unlim 4DR bump issue.

I installed new Helo 852 black (17x8 5-5) wheels and 33" BFG LT285/70R17D1 tires on my stock 2008 Unlimited 4DR. All is well except sometimes when I hit dips or bumps a little hard (not that hard) my tires seem to rub. I have not found any evidence of where the rub is happening yet (only bumped twice now), but I was wondering if I should be concerned. I really don't want to put a lift on it and that may negatively affect my lifetime bumper-to-bumper and drive train warranties.

Swapping bigger tires on had an effect on your warranty. You know you want a lift, go for it!

Are you going straight when you hear it? Turning to only one side of the other? First guess is it's that stupid plastic skid/air dam. Second guess would be the front bumper.

And do you know the backspace on those rims?

I was going straight. I will look into the wheel specs. I was told by the assistant manager at discount tire (he made a call to some "expert") that the dealers were putting 33s on their modded wranglers.

What are some good (or best) 2" bb lifts out there?

What was the BackSpacing on the rims??? This could be your issue? I am guessing you have a higher BS and the rim is sitting to close to the suspension components and causing the rubbing issue.

4.5" BS should work...I got the same specs on my Eagle 140 Series 17x8 and 4.5" and I run a 33x12.50R17 Cooper STT when I ran it stock suspension I had no issues with rubbing unless I went off-road when I flexed a little it would rub on the rear stock fender flares. I have no rubbing issues off-road with the 2" RE lift and mono shocks.

Bit off topic, but since moving from stock to these tyres did it influencing anything, power, fuel etc? I am planning on fitting the exact same size soon.

Have the Zone Offroad 3" lift so not concerned about rubbing issues.

Power is degraded a bit (i notice more tac on hills) and a bit less gas mpg. Still worth it!
