Default doing it all at once on a new X, 4" w 35's

Just bought a new stock X automatic 3.73 with intent to raise etc...
After much studying (much of it here) here is what I decided to do.
I would welcome comments or suggestions. I ordered it all yesterday but can still make changes.

4" Teraflex lift
front and rear procomp driveshafts
5.13 gears front and rear
Rugged Ridge 17x9 wheels
TOYO MT 35 x 12.5 tires

Would you believe that is $7500.00 at the local 4 wheel parts (with labor)
Jeeeezzz..... and that is after taking extended warranties and other bs off..
From what I can tell, this should make a good looking decent off road jeep.
90% of the driving time will be on road so I am hoping it will drive straight and have decent performance.

Did I miss anything?

Firstly, welcome to the site

Secondly, $7,500.00 at once???? Boy, how I wish I could do that

Are you replacing the control arms, trackbars, etc.? What about armor, skids, diff. covers, bumpers? The setup sure would make for a nice ride without a doubt, but I'm sure sooner or later, you'll find more stuff you need [or want]

Which 4" kit are you going with? And have you considered installing yourself and using the extra money for armor or something?

Here are some TeraFlex 4" install write-ups

And here is the DIY alignment write-up (do yourself a huge favor and don't pay to get your alignment done at that particular shop.)

I am thinking about diff covers for sure while the diffs are apart for gears. My front axle is a dana 30 so they have to change the housing to put the 5.13's in.
What I am trying to do it get the lift/suspension all done right in one whack, then do the rest of the jeep in pieces.
This is my third Jeep. I ahd an 88 and a 01 TJ that somone else had done a really nice job with 6" lift, driveshafts, gears etc. That Jeep looked great and drove well on the street. It had Warn bumpers which I really liked. I may do those again.
Wish I could DIY some of this but I work 6+ days a week. It would never get done....

This site was very helpful in getting a quick education on the JK.
I don't really like that anemic V-6 motor. I am hoping the gears will help it pull a little better on the low end.

I wish I could pull this off all at once too! I think the only thing I would do different would be the tera 3" instead of the 4".

Post some pics when it's done!

Got issues......
having to regroup and not too thrilled
Teraflex says my 4" kit also needs "arms" (another $1,600.00) and that it really is too high for a X with 35" tires, and probably wont run well at highway speeds on the street.
This basic TF kit yeilds 6.5" on an X without bumpers etc....
a 2.5" kit was suggested.....
I spent hours looking at pics of JK with 2.5 and they look a bit too low for my taste.
A compromise was reached with a Rancho 4" kit with adjustable shocks....
Now I am wondering if I even needed those driveshafts.
And I am less excited about how this is going to turn out..

I have a 4" Superlift with Teraflex arms and 35" BFG KM2s. It looks perfect. I still have the stock driveshafts. Have not had the chance to beat on my jeep yet because I have been too busy with other things, but yeah, with 4" of lift new shafts are inevitable. I suggest you take a look at the set up in my sig. I've had it for a few months now and I absolutely love it. No regrets here. And my Superlift 4" with my bumpers netted 4-5" all around, so I'm not sure how much it would do with stock bumpers. That being said, I had no rear for a while and my front bumper is super light, so I wouldn't worry if I were you. On the highway, I would say the ride is just as good if not better than before. I got a heck of a deal on my Superlift, but I can't see how you could go wrong with the TF 4" kit with arms.

Here is how my 4" with 35s turned out...

I would have to think that the TF 3" kit would net 4 inches on the two door if not more.

That is what I have and I love it. It drives great on the road, which is what I'm on 95% of the time. I think it has a very balanced look...not too high and not too low. It may end up looking a little too high IMO once I chop the fenders.

All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the performance and quality of my Teraflex kit...and their customer service is outstanding.

Just my .02.
