Shrockworks makes great products--if you can stand the wait. I can, so have the front mid-width and their rock rails. And I've been patiently awaiting my rear bumper/tire carrier/rack/jerry can set--since EJS in early April. Here's a picture of RescueX's Jeep with the stubby Shrockworks bumper.

As for finishes--They have a pebble grain, semi-gloss, and anthracite. The anthracite looks great on certain vehicles, but beware that you probably won't be able to find matching gear from other companies. As for the semi-gloss, I ran into basically that same problem--most after-market bumpers are pebble grain, so if you want your front and rear to have an identical finish, you might be best to go with that or the unfinished. I believe that the unfinished are primer coated. It's primarily for folks who know they're going to really beat up the finish, and just want to rattle can it on occasion to keep it looking okay. You can give Shrockworks a call and confirm about that primer.

Other than the waits and charging your credit card when you order, Shrockworks is a great company to work with. I lost two shackles at Moab and called them up to replace them. Kevin sent them to me, gratis. That helped ease the pain of two other losses from that trip: $220 for a new windshield, and $1100 from repairing a busted tooth (in my mouth, not on my Jeep).

i have a shrockworks rear bumper with tire carrier and sliders. great stuff! i don't think the "bare steel" is coated with anything, so they will rust. as for waiting for your order, i've heard some crazy wait times! i was lucky, the sliders were in stock at screaminlizard.com. when i was placing my order for the sliders they had a extra fear bumper. no wait time! i call them all the time on a stubby (i'm sure they hate me!) last time they said 8 weeks out if i place an order. go to shrockworks.com for pictures, they have every angle you need.

I have the front, rear and sliders from Shrockworks. It takes awhile, but afterwards you really don't remember. These are great products! I am waiting for their front/rear fenders.

Bare steel means it has no coating. Hints the word "Bare". It will have surface rust when you get it. Clean it up, slap some coating on and go. You will or SHOULD be scratching them any way. I have their sliders and they are stout. Really good products IMO.
