Default Warn M8000 Winch Parts....

I just got a used warn M8000 winch (for nothing ) the only catch is it's missing the solenoid and remote control. I talked to the Warn folks and apparently the part # I need is #38842. The cheapest I've found is $220, which is a bit tough to swallow considering that's about half the cost of a brand new M8000 delivered.

Any suggestions?

craigslist...just type in like winch, warn winch, or something to that effect under auto parts...there are always remotes and winch pieces and parts on there...good luck with getting your winch up and running

I would try to find a company that services or repairs winches. Maybe a wrecker service or Iron work company. They may have some parts. Good Luck

You can build one for under $100.

I'd bite the bullet and just get one. That's like buying a Cadillac and trying to repair it with a dollar store part. You got the best name brand winch for FREE. 220 bucks ain't bad to have in a working winch. Look at the big picture.

I could if I had the knowledge to....

I'll have to take it to a winch shop. It would suck to spend the $220 to find out there is something else wrong with it, at that point it would make more sense just to buy one new.

Anyhow, thanks for the suggestions all!
