Question MT MTZ 35 x 13.50x 18 Tire as Spare.. Will the tailgate hold?

So I've seen that some people put spares on their tailgate with no problems.. but I'm kinda unsure.

I'm running Mickey Thompson MTZ 35x13.50x18 on Chrome Pro Comp 6001 wheels.... They're prettttttty damn heavy.

Anyone have any input about having such a heavy tire on your tailgate? Will I have to take the brake light off? Will it fit with the factory bumper?

I've been running around town with the original spare tire and I'm gettin the stink eye for it ... and I'm not going to show up at a wheeling event with that donut on the back!!!

I've seen the nice bumpers that everyone has but it's hard for me to afford the $1500 rear bumper with tire swingaway.. AND the $600 for the spare tire/wheel!

Suggestions appreciated!!!!

Don't do it. Period.

I had a BFGoodrich KM2 35x12.5r17 on AEV Pintlers on my stock tailgate. That's a lighter setup than you've got, and after running it for a year, it literally bent my tailgate with a crease running diagonally from the top right to the bottom left.

It rattled incessently and whenever I hit a really big bump, it sounded like a jackhammer.

I really didn't want to spent $1,500 on a nice tire carrier/rear bumper this summer, but I ended up doing it and it fixed the problem, but I wish I'd done it earlier. The tailgate was so messed up that I needed to readjust it several times even after installing my rear bumper.
