Default True Flow XDI intake

Call me crazy but I installd the new True Flow XDI intake yesterday. I feel a definite increase in throttle response and what feels like a litle power. I have not taken it on any hills to see if it downshifts as much. I think the growl under the hood when you gas it sounds awesome. My wife even likes it, especially when it looks like I will be getting about 2mpg better according to the jeep.

Now just to decide which exhaust to do. Any advise would be appreciated.

I won't call you crazy, as I felt the same way when I installed a CIA on my 94 XJ back in 96. I still have it on there, as well as a Flowmaster exhaust.
The fact of the matter is I do think I got a little better MPG on the highway, but lost some around town. The sound is quite irritating to me, and the only reason I've kept it is because the ARB compressor sits where the stock airbox used to sit, and the aftermarket stereo drowns out the noise.

Make sure you actually check those mpg numbers by hand as the onboard computer does a horrible job once you start making changes that effect throttle blade position and manifold pressure. I'm not doubting that efficiency and mpg numbers are better, but they will be greatly reduced in comparison to what the on board computer illustrates.

I will definitely check it with next fill-up, but even 1 mpg gain will counteract some of the loss from the 33's.

Would an exhaust help my mpg or would it hurt my mpg?

MBRP cat back exhaust. I've seen one in person -- what a beautiful tone of growl. It is going to be my next purchase. I'm not sure if it will dramatically improve MPG or throttle response; I mean you are driving a Jeep. But I think the combination with your XDI will be perfect in my opinion.

I just took mine off because I'm switching to a snorkel.

I am running the stock air box now and I can totally notice the decrease in power (and I miss the intake growl).

Thanks,
Mike

I think the reason some people lose mpg is they put their foot into it more to hear the sound, I do anyway.
