Exclamation Going Wheelin/Muddin at the last second!!!

Going to do some night wheeling up in San Marcos tonight. If you wanna go, then meet me at Old Spaghetti Factory in San Marcos by 5:45pm. Meeting a few other people so I won't be able to wait around. Sorry for the last minute, but that is how I got it. Just got off the phone and headed out the door...

Trail head is at N33.21582 W117.17130

Well I didn't get any action shots on the trail because there wasn't really time, and it was DARK! Within in the first 500ft of the trail, the F150 with us broke. We cleared it off the road, the driver jumped in with me, and we continued. Hit a few pretty good puddles (mud going over the hood), and slid around a bit. I wouldn't really recommend that a novice tackle this at night as it can be a difficult trail to begin with depending on what route you take, let alone adding mud and darkness. I don't recommend going at it alone as I got my first recovery under my belt tonight (me recovering another, TJ). All in all, I had a blast despite the broken F150. Compared to some of the trails I have been on that are rated "difficult", I would have to say this one ranks up there with them. All about lane selection and not being too prideful (pride+these trails= Broken Jeep). Here are some shots of my Jeep after word though...

Also, note the front fenders for those of you waiting for the pics of the finished product (finally).

Nice. Next time, I hope you can give a little bit more "heads up." I'm sure my arm could be twisted enough to go get the ol' JK dirty.

I need your number! I wish I had more heads up. I honestly changed clothes (while on the phone), posted the topic, then headed out the door to fuel up and meet my buddy. Man, it was pretty intense in some spots with the DEEP ruts, and rocks popping out all over the place. There is a good varitiy of difficulty up there.

Side note for others: Just so it is known, I wouldn't recommend this trail for a completely stock Jeep. You "could" make it, but expect damage.

Hey, no problems. In your first post, you mentioned that you, yourself, had little notice. Just busting your chops a little. (Anyways, as I mentioned in the other thread, I had to watch my boys while my wife, her dad, and her girlfriend all went to the Metallica concert at SDSU.)

No problems yet. Not holding my breath though. I don't think it is something that I would get pulled over for, but I think they may site me if I get pulled over for something else (that and my windows).
