Default ignition kill switches
Several thefts of Jeeps reported on TV in the San Diego area. Easy access to the engine compartment apparently makes it easy. Anyone suggest a effective ignition kill switch?

On my manual transmission XJ I had one tied into the clutch disconnect. I'm thinking about tying into the NSS on the JK. A well hidden switch inside the cab someplace might make sense

I went with a bolt hold lock for $50. I want some kind of switch also but I figured maybe just locking the hood was enough to keep them moving on.

Locking the hood only keeps them from cutting the horn. You really need to stop them from starting it or from getting to the OBDII port

Woah! I need that for my Baja trips. The second link with the remote starts, how difficult of an install is this? Looks almost too simple?

Takes about 10 min to install. Its not a remote start, the remote triggers a relay in the box to connect and disconnect the battery. it also has a hot lead you can use for the radio or an alarm system that is not affected when you shut it off.

Yea sorry not remote start but essentially turn on and off.

I'm making my own circuit breaker/SPOD type device. I am putting in a water proof enclosing, so maybe I can somehow fit this in.
