Default Labor Day Weekend

Now that I got some dirt on the Jeep again I only have a stronger desire to get out soon to do it again! Have never been to Big Bear but figured I'd ask a couple questions first.

Any groups going anywhere for the long weekend? Big Bear or otherwise. How tough is Big Bears trails to do solo? Any additional tips such as lodging are welcomed of course.

I would be interested in a Big Bear trip as well! I've heard there are some pretty fun trails up there, but I'm not a fan of the solo off-road mission...

It depends on the trail for the difficulty. Some up there are easy enough that I would feel comfortable doing solo(like gold mountain) and some arent(like John Bull or Holcomb Creek).. With that being said.. I absolutely positively would never hit a trail alone.. Even with a perfectly maintained rig and with perfect lines.. Breakdowns occur.. And I wouldn't want to find myself in that situation alone. Just my 2 cents. As for lodging, you can camp at a campsite for a pretty reasonable fee(can't recall the exact price but I think it's sub-40) or you can get a cabin, hotel, etc. The prices vary wildly between all the options so unfortunately I can't really help there. Best advice? Go online and shop around. I do however know the hotel I rented once was 1 bill a night.. On a completely packed post snowstorm weekend.

good luck finding a place on labor day weekend. I'm heading up for the weekend and still trying to find a place to stay.. REASONABLE price..

you'll most likely run into another group of jeepers.

The trails are all pretty easy...jb and Holcomb being amongst the better ones...done both solo and night runs on em as well...if you break no biggie someone will be coming along soon enough sit back chill out and do what you can....I've helped out groups and solo drivers before so its a give and take......

Whether your with a group or solo a break doesn't care and its not in the ,middle of nowhere...plus there will be plenty of traffic that weekend...
Most jeepers will let you join in which is a really cool thing about us....

Lodging they are all pretty close in price.....I'd start Calling now and see if there's a cancellation....(if they are all booked.)

Have fun its a good time up there...the kids dig it...
