We went last Feb and a few guys go out every now and then. Contact any of the local 4x4 clubs they will hook you up.
Actually we were in Parker, but same advice holds true.

Theres a fun trail just north of Parker called Buckskin Mountain. It winds by some abandoned mines and ends up at the 4x4-only entrance to the Desert Bar, an off-the-grid tavern that's only open during the winter, and only on weekends. I think the trail is best to run from north to south, personally.
When you get to Havasu, go to Hastings (a book/music/video store) and pick up the softbound guide to the trails in La Paz County; it's in the regional section near the magazine aisles and the coffee shop. It's got really good maps of the area trails, including Buckskin Mountain.
I've spent a lot of time just driving along the trails east of town, mostly at the southern end. If you take a right on McCullough at the first light in town (coming from the south), and make your way to Challenger Drive, take Challenger east till the pavement ends. That's the start of an endless supply of service roads and offroad trails. I spend hours at a time out there.
There are also a lot of trails north of Havasu, closer to Kingman, but I haven't hit any of them yet. More trails to ghost towns and things in that area.
If you find something good, post directions if you don't mind. I spend a few weeks a year out there, and I'm always happy to learn about new trails.
Oh, and you might hear about a trail along the Bill Williams River that sounds fun. Unfortunately, it's been gated off; most trail guides don't seem to mention that fact yet. Too bad, it looked like a fun trail with a lot of water crossings.
Anyway, have a good one!

If it is state land or federal, then other rules may apply including permits.
