The reason why I would not recommend it is that with all the sand we drive throuh... it will now ALL end up in your air box.

BUT if you do get a snorkel.... keep it disconnected under the hood and route it under the airbox.... and connect it only when you need it. That way you'll get lett sand in the airbox.

This is the second time for me with water. The other time I was get my hiking Friends and I fell off the edge of a shelf under water while crossing a large stream. the water went over the tire and onto the hood of the driver's side. If it would have been the passenger side I would have done this back then.
But I would have really been in trouble. With the knowledge and help of you and Eddie at least I was able to get out under my own power.
I'll probanly get the pre filter too and paint the thing black. it doesn't look so bad then.
Thanks for the advice though.

Great pic's Doug

Sorry to hear about the hydro lock and new motor,

I saw either on this forum or another, can't remember, where a member did a mod using a wet vac hose setup.

What he did was installed "what looked like to me" a RV dump valve to the side of the air box
toward the bottom before the filter and attached that wet vac hose to it, ran it up the driver side
firewall into the jeep cabin, and when he went water fording <mis spelled> seniors moment ) he
put a rubber cover over the stock air box intake and open the dump valve, allowing cabin air to the bottom of the air box before the filter.

As for me I don't think I could stand all the throttle body noise, but that's just me and who knows maybe the air filter would cut down on allot of it.
