Huntsville Alabama / Tennessee Valley Chat

Just wondering how many people are in here from Huntsville... I see plenty of jeeps, that's for sure. In fact, many people have found the JK to be worthy of a friendly wave or two.

Welcome! Gee, I think we're up to eight or nine folks now.

My wife's family lives in the area, so I'm there often, plus one of my best friends lives in Athens.

Cool! Let us know the next time you're dropping by, and maybe we can go hit a trail somewhere. :yup:

Saw your pics of Morris Mtn. Would you recommend a visit? Doesn't look as though anyone was driving anything overly modified, which is encouraging for me and some of the others here, being as we don't want to thrash our Jeeps too much while they're still relatively new.:no2:

Actually, there were quite a few high dollar buggies out there (all on cell phone pics). There are plenty of normal trails to conquer, but also very difficult ones. A couple of the TJ's that were with us were running 37's, 38's(white and Navy), but nothing extreme the Navy TJ was olny in 3 Wheel drive all day. He broke a hub first thing. If it was raining hard almost the whole time, it would have been better, not to mention the 10 minute hail storm that came through. Yeah, my Jk is my daily driver so I can relate to not trashing it.

The TJ behind me in this pic is on 33's and the YJ is on 32's, so there's plenty to do for mild vehicles.

When you mentioned some of the size tires folks were running, I realized someone's been spending money. :yup:

Being extremely new to Jeeps and ORV parks, do the trails tend to be loops of, say 5 or 10 miles, or are most "parks" fairly compact with people tending to "stack up" on busy days? :dontknow2:
