North East TN Meet & Trail Ride Stoney Creek trail July 23rd
We're finally going to have another jk-forum meet & greet / group ride this year!
The trail will be an easy, scenic trail ride that all JKs (stock or modded) can have fun on called Stoney Creek in Elizabethton TN. Come join us on July 23rd at around 11:00 if you want to come by and put some faces to the names and enjoy one of the most beautiful trails in the area. It will take about 4 to 5 hours to complete the trail and come back down the fire road. There are several challenging obsticles like rocky ledges and steep hill climbs on this trail which will make it fun for both stock and modified JK's, as well as a few 1ft to 1.5ft deep water crossings. All significant obstacles have bypasses, so if you don't feel comfortable on them, just go around. This trail is notorious for low hanging branches and laurels that love to kiss jeeps, so don't be surprised if your jeep has a few pin stripes until you give it a good coat of wax again. We will be meeting at Food City in Elizabethton at around 11:00 am and caravan to the trail head. Post if you think you might be able to come and we'll get a list started. Coming: 1)Curiosity +2 2)rider81 4)aclokwerk 5)karben276 6)robo_tn 7)jcraw3 +1 8)TNJKER 9)lowNslow 10) GPS map of the trail: http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...Stony1A640.jpg |

I hope I can make it. That's the last day of Funfest, so my wife could kidnap me away from my Jeep.

I'm up for this, been looking for somewhere to finally get this thing off the pavement. Seems weather and work always gets in the way

Looks like its a 3 1/2 hour drive for me out of Cookeville, is there a decent motel in Elizabethton, or is Johnson City going to the best bet. I don't mind the drive home afterwards but theres just something wrong with being up before daylight on a saturday.

Are there some nice technical portions to the trail. Something that will challenge but not break my rig
This is a rocky trail (as the name indicates), so there is a good amount of rock crawling, aka fun. |
