If you are willing to drive here for the ride, you are more than welcome to stay at my house. We are 3-4 miles off of I-81 (exit 59) and about 30 min or so from Stoney Creek trailhead. I have 2 spare bedrooms with their own bathroom.
I wasn't sure I could make it, but I believe I have it worked out.

It will only make you a better driver. Did you ever get regeared? If not, we need to negotiate a group rate with somone.

Welcome to the forum and "the South" sub-forum.

You're more than welcome to come out with us next week. A stock JK can handle the trail just fine, but if you're afraid of trail damage, I'm sure somebody will be happy to let you ride shotgun. Let me know and I'll put you down.

we ussually just have a meet like this once a year, but I'll see about maybe getting another together this fall when the leafs are at peak color. There are always people getting together for small group rides around here.

Default work....

so yet again work gets int the way of fun. i have to work around two on the 23rd but should be able to meet up and ride a lil bit of the trail. they sprung up a huge project that will eat up my next two weekends. ill hope to see ya on sat.

me and my girlfriend drove up to the top of holston mtn july 4th weekend and i would recomend bringing some chainsaws and some chains to pull downed trees. there was a ton of downed tress near panhandle road so i imagine the trail will have a lot of downed trees as well. it looked like a tornado may have touched down on holston mountain a few storms ago.

Don and I have been up the trail since those trees came down and the trail really didn't have much damage... the couple trees that came down on the trail had already been cleared. There is a lot of carnage over there off the exit road, but nothing that should slow us down. That said, I will be bringing my chainsaw just in case.
