Default PowerTank: Power Fact 1

What is a Power Tank?

Power Tank is a system originally designed to air up tires after going off road, but it has many other uses as well. Power Tanks can be used to run air tools, activate air lockers (POWERTANK - CO2 Air Systems), seat the bead on a tire and so many other things. Professional musicians use Power Tanks to clean their equipment, professional sports team mascots power their t-shirt cannons with Power Tanks, and the construction industry uses them to quietly run air tools, etc. We recently saw a young man who used a Power Tank to create a misting system for hot days!!

A Power Tank is different because it's goal is to move as much CO2 as possible. It's goal is increased volume. That's what makes it ideal for airing up tires. Many folks think it's about PSI but volume inflates tires. Our Superflow Regulators (POWERTANK - CO2 Air Systems) are designed and built to move as much CO2 as possible without "freezing up". A fixed regulator off an old keg will move CO2, but not as much and not without freezing up. And not as quickly.

In a future Power Fact we'll talk about the number of tires you can inflate with a 10# Power Tank, Let's say you want a 10 PSI increase on a 35" tire. In that scenario, you can air up a 35" tire in 19 seconds (chart here: Powertank.com -- test). How long would that take with a compressor? And how many times would the compressor have to cycle on and off or shut down to cool off?

All of the "hard parts" of a Power Tank system are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. If a metal part fails, we'll replace or repair it. That includes the regulator. We don't know of any other companies that offer that kind of warranty. We also have a regulator upgrade program ( that we'll discuss in a future Power Fact. It's pretty incredible!!
