Default 13 soft top on an 08

I found a 13 soft top on craigslist for cheap and want to buy it since I just have a hard top but will it fit? I know I have read somewhere about cutting something somewhere but I cant find it now. so will it go right on? my jeep had both tops from the factory but I never got the soft top for it, its got the mounts on the bar right behind the seats for it already. anything else I would need? guy says everything is there but I really don't know what everything is.

You need the correct door surrounds and mounting hardware which he should have if he has everything for it. I would try and put it in the job wherever you meet and then pay if everything works out. Or pay and have him help you put it on.

I asked him and he said he has everything, im going to have my dad go pick it up for me tonight because I have to work late so hopefully its all complete. I want it because it will be easier to put on than the hard top by myself. I run door less most of the time and if I know its going to rain I put the top on, a soft top seems like a better setup for what im doing, I will just run the hard top in the winter.

That's the exact reason I looked for a jeep with a soft top. I think some people mentioned trimming the plastic on the header bar for the middle hook on the windshield.

I bought the hard top because it's easier to sell if I didn't want to keep it, I like the soft top for the other reasons and I knew eventually I would find a good deal on a soft top. This one seems to be that good deal!

So I bought the top. Actually I sent my dad to buy it because In still at work and will be for a couple hours lol but anyway my dad said it's 100% complete from what he can tell. Now how hard is it to actually put on? And will it fold all the back to go top less if I wanted to?

As long as he got ALL the hardware...door surrounds, roll bar brackets, tailgate bar and brackets...it shouldn't be hard. Go to Bestops website and find the Bestop NX and read the instructions. I think there may be a slight difference in how the sunrider works, but otherwise very similar. And what you probably read before is that the position of the footman loop on the windshield changed. I'm not sure what year as I have read that it changed in 2009, 2011, and 2012. You'll find out soon enough if the soft top header hits the footman loop rather than sit in the header cut-out. Not tough to fix, just mark where it hits and remove some material. A dremel works good for that. Otherwise it holds the header up just enough to allow wind noise, and possibly water, to come through. And the newer soft tops have a cable and springs for sealing the top to the door surrounds. That's a good thing.
