Default 2007 Wrangler - no power ODD!

All,

Buddy of mine has a 2007 STOCK Wrangler Sahara. He was driving down the highway yesterday and his dash lit up. Pulled over, Jeep died. Towtruck jumped jeep off, but wouldn't stay running. Towed home. We replaced alternator. Hooked my jk up to his battery. His jeep had zero power. No lights,no radio, nothing. Completely blacked out. Multimeter is showing a little over 12v at battery and at fuse panel without my JKU hooked up to his battery. Alternator is hooked up correctly (but that shouldn't matter at this point)

I am at a complete loss as to why the Jeep has no power.

Found a fried battery wire we couldn't see in dark last night. Just one of those fluke things! Running fine now.

Which wire? Had it chafed on something?

Looks like previous owner ran an amp and had wires in a stock loom. All chaffed
