I have this same issue. Supposedly it is just something wrong with some sensor. It costs a few hundred to replace or what You can do is when it does that turn the key back to off and then turn it back to the start position but don't try to crank it and shift from Park to 1st gear and then back to park and then it will crank right up. I think it's called the parking sensor but I could be wrong.

Update. Mechanic thought he found the problem, said it was related to the ignition, and supposedly made the fix. Got it home and 3 hours later...same problem. I ended up running a 0-guage ground wire from the battery negative terminal to the alternator bracket and its started up with no problems since. Hopefully that's the fix!
