Default 2011 to a 2016 JKU

As issues with electrical and engine in my 2011 wrangler, oil loss being the main issue with the engine. All research on it says it's common, I'm trading it in for a 2016 JKU Wrangler. Wanted to know if there is anything I should be weary about on the newer models????

Yes. Don't settle for 3.21 gearing. You'll want 3.73 or 4.10.

while the 3.6 is a good engine it has not been without flaws. radiator, oil cooler housings, cylinder heads etc are among the most cited issues. Not sure any year is immune it is just the newer ones have less miles. My 2014 had the radiator replaced and the oil cooler housing replaced just past 50,000 miles. I know have a 2016 and I am guessing when I get around 50K I will start having things crop up. I agree get the numerically higher gears.

Check the heater/defroster... my '08 was really hot but my '15 is significantly cooler at the driver side compared to the center.

My 2012 with pentastar has been trouble free for 89,000 miles.

Traded my 2011 sport for a 2016 rubicon and couldn't be happier. This engine has a lot more power and I went with the 4:10 gears as well. My other used oil like crazy and even after they replaced the heads.

Are you feeling the difference? Even with standard gears, there is a big difference
