Default 3 symptoms, common problem?

2013 JKU, mostly stock 3.5 lift with 33" tires

syemptoms
1). Just recently noticed at highway speed's loss of power engine won't rev of over 3000
Pulled the batter cable and let computer reset- all is ok unless I go full throttle
(Maybe a faulty accelerator pedal?)

2). Sitting in traffic 10 mins and the hot oil light comes on, Jeep goes into limp mode
Pulled the battery cable and let computer reset- light Is now off but the electric cooling fan runs wide open all the time, even at cold startup , so tranny can't be hot
(. Maybe a bad temp sending unit)

JK gurus please help!!

thansk!

With anything electrical, or potential sensor related item my 1st step is to always start with an OBD2 code reader and see what codes are logged to give yourself some further insight. That's where most shops would start anyways.

I recently purchased the BlueDriver OBD2 Scanner which was $100 and I can tell you, as a DIYer it's already paid for itself. Most shops charge $80 just to do the same type of scans anyways. It was able to pull codes from modules that I didn't even think was possible including the audio amplifier, Tire pressure sensors, and fog lights even when the dash had no lights showing up to indicate any problems. Most of the scanners out there such as Torque Pro will only pull ECM codes, but the BlueDriver can pull ABS and Airbag among others as mentioned. It's very simple to use as well. Works with your smartphone or tablet via bluetooth and often provides suggested repairs by others.

Good advice.

I purchased OBD Fusion yesterday. I guess I need to research how comprehensive it is.
BlueDriver looks really nice.

i have always had a check engine light on this vehicle , but have had no symptoms.

Thansk for your reply and I will post up the results of my scan

So I got my OBD2 reader
and this is what it showed

I have found that the trans temp sensor is part of the valve body, so if that is bad, I am not in for an easy fix

I tested the IAT sensor and it appears to be bad, so I have a new one coming.

should I also maybe suspect the TCM? I am
not sure how to test this module, but it seems to responsible for monitoring trans temp sensor
and it would be cheaper and easier the the sensor itself

probably not your issue, but i had an intermittent issue with the fan that gave codes for intermittent voltage. Turned out that the battery cable got loose. Tightened it up and the problem went away.

Just wanted to update this

So one of my codes was a IAT sensor, I replaced it this AM and reconnected the battery. Went for a short test drive and all seems good.

check engine light went off, cooling fan was not running wide open and trans temp light not on.

Maybe this was the culprit all along?

I still have a traction control and ABS light on , but they have been on for a long time and I don't think they are related to this.

Glad you got that part solved. What's an IAT sensor?
