Just turned 51,000 miles. Pennzoil 10W30 Dino, basic Fram filters, changed every 3000 miles. No Issues whatsoever. No oil usage ever. I drive this vehicle BRISKLY, but I don't abuse it...

Almost 70K on mine, only issue on mine was the battery and just replaced with an Optima Yellow top, I've used Mobil 1 10w-30 since I bought it @ 20K miles.

I have an 07 with 70,000+ miles on it.

I have a nasty vibration I am sure is the engine about 3000-3500 rpm. NO KNOCKS but the vibration is getting bad. I really don;t know what to do.

I have be fairly decent on oil changes. I have been using castrol 5-20. I am thinking to go with the 10-30 just because.

I use maybe a quart between oil changes, so i think I am good there.

I too agree they should have stuck with the 4.0l my last jeep had 300,000 on the original 4.0 when I sold it. and was still going strong. the rear maul leaked like a pig but I wasn't about to change it with that many miles on it. I sold it to a college kid in town and I still see it cruising around all the time.

If this 3.8l goes.. it's HEMI time.. something Jeep NEEDS to offer like NOW!

Default Update: 5qts in 4200 miles

Update to previous post on this thread.

Change my oil and filled with Valvoline 5W20 full synthetic. Checked oil at 500 mile intervals, added oil only when it was down 1qt. ended up burning 5 qts. in 4200 miles. no leaks anywhere. Currently doing oil consumption test at the dealer. I have an extended powertrain warranty and they assure me they will replace the engine. Service manager said he has seen more than he would like of these coming back to the dealer with this issue. I think most JK's are fine as the poll results show but there are a few that have issues. I will post the final outcome on this issue.

Profire. I had the same problem with the Valvoline. Changed back to Pennzoil 5W20 and no problems again (Less than a quart in 4,000 miles) May want to consider a change and see.
