Just turned 65K today. No issues. I run an AFE dry filter, Flowmaster Delta 50 muffler with stock pipes, and Flashpaq. I change the oil when the light comes on, usually around 4-5K miles. I use dino oil, usually Valvoline or Castrol GTX 5w20. I tried Mobil 1 synth oil for a while, but it did not seem to make any difference in performance. I actually get better mileage with dino oil. When I have a performance tune with the Flashpaq, I get 15 mpg +/-. On the "Economy" setting, I average 18 mpg, and thats with 33" KMII tires. I really dont have any complaints about the 3.8 engine. Even stock, it did well enough on road and had plenty of power off road, so long as you kept the weight reasonable. Not to say I would have been disappointed if my Jeep came with a more powerful engine....

No Issues!

2007 with 43K on the clock. No issues and not using any oil. Change the oil at the dealer every 3-4K.

07 Rubicon Unlimited, use 5w20, like the book says, has 85,500 on the ticker. Had to add FOUR quarts since last oil change from Jeep dealership....1,550 miles ago. never noticed it smoke, doesn't leak...WTF? Where's it going??

The high temperature, 2-stage cats are burning most of it off before it shows up out the tailpipe as smoke. If you have someone drive behind you and you rev it under load going up a hill they'll see some smoke for sure, but the cats are pretty good at hiding most of it from being able to be seen out the rearview mirror by the driver. I have an old car without cats that uses about a quart per 1000 miles and you can certainly see the smoke pouring out the tailpipes when it revs past 3000RPM.

hmmm...interesting....I haven't heard that before, but I guess it makes sense. I'm kinda worried about the thing ive heard a few on here mention, that these engines have been found to have the ring gaps lined up, and the oil control ring upside down. I'm out of warranty too, so...it would be awesome if Chrysler had heard this enough that they would help, even though the warranty is gone, but...:naw:

It just binds up on me...always at low speeds. It really gets stiff and is really hard to turn...I can give it some gas and power through it,if you will, but it has caused me to overshoot a parking space or two! It is also very random and very intermittent...that is either hot or cold, but always at low speed. No real noise, just fights with me a bit and then goes away.

2007 purrs like a kitten, 20 mpg, 51,000 miles, drinks oil like a fish. Have to top up every 3 to 400 miles. Just missed lifetime warranty by 6 weeks.

Thanks for posting this poll! I was contemplating doing something similar because it's just so nerve wrecking hearing about all these people having such major issues with their Jeeps... I was starting to get a little paranoid, thinking it was just inevitable that it's going to someday happen to mine. So far the poll is looking very promising.
