32's to 33's ??
Have 255/75/17 and would like to go to a aftermarket rim 17x8.5 with 285/70/17.
I would also like a smooth ride so considering duratracs or bfg AT KO. Did anybody regret going bigger?
I have a 2 door with pentastar. Will it feel dogish with 3.21?
If it's reprogrammed will I have to worry about shift points on the highway?

The pentastar is quite the animal and you really shouldn't have any issues. Reprogramming it can fix your shift points but it won't cause any concern, it should rather alleviate the constant (if any) downshifts to maintain speed.
I have a 3.8, manual, 32's, and it's tuned. The 3.6, manual, and rubi 32's (higher rolling resistance), no tune was quicker and more responsive than mine was. I'm guessing you've got the auto but even then- the pentastar really does help out quite a bit.
Yes I love the power it has when you hit the gas . Makes it very fun to drive that's why I am still debating 33's. Really like the aftermarket rims but all the good ones are 17 by 8.5 and a bigger tire would be a better fit.

I had a 2013 with 3.21's and went with 33's (toyo open country at2's) smooth and quiet. You do how ever take a slight power hit and you definetly need it reprogrammed with a procal or similar to get proper shift points back if an automatic. Here is where you notice you have lost some zip, run the 33's for a while then put stock tires back on and you are like dang where did all this power come from. I never noticed it much going stock to bigger but going the other way you do. That all said skip the 285/70-17's and go 285/75-17 they look much better and within a week you start thinking your 285/70-17's look small.
I'm running 33" Duratracs on my 2014 JKU without any issues with 3.21 gears and I didn't have to mess with reprogramming the shift points. I'd recommend going ahead and doing it and see how you like it before you spend the money on the programmer. YMMV.
If you have an automatic you may not realize it, but you will be happier if you get a procal. It may be a subtle difference but it is there. The shift points are based on a variety of things and speedometer accuracy plays a roll. When you get your speedo accurate your vehicles computer programs your shift points. I think with 3.21's it is super important as the automatic has to hunt for proper gear anyway.
