4 Low making a slapping clacking noise

My past two runs I've noticed a new clacking noise coming from the transfer case. Here's what happens: as I am descending down something and/or NOT giving gas, I occasionally hear a clacking noise that occurs when the Jeep is being shaken/rattled by the terrain. It ONLY happens in 4 low and in short series of 3-5 "Clacks". It almost sounds like the chain is slapping the case. It wont do it in 4 Hi or 2wd and it doesn't seem to do it when I am in 4 low and giving it power. I'm going to check the fluids in the morning to make sure everything is good and I think it should be since I only have 9K miles on it. (yes, an 08 with ONLY 9k)

If that all checks out I was thinking of taking it to the dealer. However, before I do that I want some input from the forum about what it could be, is this something "Normal"? Has anyone heard of this before? etc

I just want to get some input because we all know the dealership isn't going to take it off-road, stick it in 4 low and rattle the Jeep. Most likely they are going to tell me that they "can't replicate problem" and I want to have some ammo if I need it. I really don't want to grenade my T-case on the trail and come back to the dealership and say, "See?! I told you it was making a clacking noise!!!"

Thanks

Normal operation, it's the slack in the driveline which is also normal. Mine has done it since day 1.
