4H steering
I am new to Jeep Wrangler. I have 2007 2 Door. It's been snowing and I use it on 4H when it's slippery. I noticed when I turn the steering wheel all the way, the steering wheel shakes and try to get back to staight. Is this normal? Or should I bring it to a dealer to have it looked at?

its not a problem, but you dont want it happening.....when using 4wd and its not slipping enough, this will happen especially with turning. i would only use 4wd in 3" + of snow to avoid that, dont use it on ice or anything because its not gonn ahelp you that much....sorry, im sure someone else can explain it much better

Thanks guys for such a quick reply. I figured that wasn't an issue, but I wanted to ask this forum first. I dont' really have to steer all the way unless I am parking, so I wasn't worried. but I guess the manual says not to use 4H in the pavement anyway.

I don't think it's the ESP, sounds like typical lack of slippage, my TJ did this on occasion as well when turning hard. In my experience so far with the JK and snow (on road) the ESP has been a good thing.
Any 4wd does this. It is the front end pulling , put it in 4 lo and it will be even more exaggerated. True , you feel it more when the front end can't slip , but it is always there. Completely normal.

It's not a good thing, though. If your wheels aren't able to slip enough, you could cause damage to the tires, or your entire drivetrain.
Honestly, I have found that 90% of the time, 4wd isn't needed in the snow. The esp itself is quite amazing. Unless, as stated, there's at least 3inches of constant snow on the ground, i would leave 4wd off.
Try to be more gentle with your turning. You really don't want to be cranking all the way anyhow. Go with more three point turns and such. I also disagree with not having 4wd turned on in icy conditions. Drive slowly anyhow, but 4wd gives me some extra grip whenever it's slippery. Just keep an eye out for pavement and go into 2x when you see it.

yeah well i guess i am also used to driving a 2wd in ice my whole life, so with the jeep its the same, except the back end is a lil light... i rarely rarely rarely use 4wd on the road, with snow or ice, just because id rather wait until i really need it. it is nice when getting started in the deep stuff, but being easy on the accelerator helps enough to get me going...alot of it is personal preference,
but as someone above stated, just make sure not to use on dry pavement, or wet pavement for that matter....itll kill ya
