5 minute fresh air mod (or how to keep leaves out of your heat a/c fan)
I can only say this works for me because I have a 2011 JKU. I'm not sure if older models have this with the old style interior.
I had heard that the people who chose the more expensive heater/a/c option got a cabin air filter. When I was poking around behind the glove box looking for a place to run some wires for a Ham radio install, I noted that my vehicle had the provisions for a cabin air filter, but there was no filter. I ordered the filter from NAPA for $25. and all you do is remove the glove box, unsnap the retainer basket for the filters, drop in the filters, resnap the retainers and reinstall the glove box. Done.
The filters come two to the box for the stated price. They are marked for directional air flow. Make sure the arrows are pointing down in the installed position, because the air flows down to the blower motor.

Is not in the 2009s for sure, I searched and searched.
To mimic a hillbilly proud JK owner: "Filter? You faggot, why you want a pansie ass filter in a damn Jeep!. I put spikes on my dash just to ensure (does a hillbilly know that word?) that I die in an accident. Pussy. You are destroying the brand buying that nonsense."
Wish there was a way to retrofit one in. In an arid climate, the dust builds up fast. Ends up being cheaper/easier to replace a $20 filter than vacuum it out all the time. Don't have any carpet anymore, so it doesn't really matter - but on my WK it was nice to keep the dust outside instead of inside. Personally, I think the way that Fiat is taking the JK seems to be all good so far.

Thanks for the heads up! I just checked my 2011 and I have the filter in place already. This is with just the stock heating/AC system, I did not get the dual zone auto climate option...
