Default Is 5W-30 ok?

I know most people on here stick with what Chrysler recommends 5W-20, but is it ok to run 30? I talked with a lot of people around here and they said with the higher elevation and the really cold winters I will be better off. I just changed my oil and went with Mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic and whether or not the previous things matter I am must curious if I made a fatal mistake or if I'll be fine. Input please!

You should be fine, I keep the 5w-20 since winters are colder than summers are hot and I'm at a lower elevation. With the cold winter where you are the oil will get thicker and slower running at startup, but the higher elevation will help thin it out I believe... Could be wrong. Regardless you shouldn't have a problem.

I must be a little crazy then, i rock 10 w 30 in the summer and 5 w 30 in the winter. Always Mobil 1 though so it probably doesn't even matter!
