Yep. It's a lot neater than what we used to do when I was a kid (B-WD40, Before WD-40): Slop Vaseline all over the terminals!

Seems like that could cause issues. Wd40 on terminals? Safe?

I've been doing it without issue literally for decades. A tiny squirt just to moisten the terminals after everything is connected up. You will never see battery corrosion again.

After all is connected? With my issues would it be wise to do so prior to tightening the connections?
