Angry Air Bag Light

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not but the airbag light keeps comming on and going off in my Jeep 08 Sahara 2dr. took it to the dealer and they said it was fine and it would be 2 weeks before they could get to it. Hmmm not that busy there it seemed to me. so if anyone knows what it could be I just wanna fix it my damn self.

quick question for your question...
are you talking about the passenger side airbag?
when the light is on, is there anything in the seat, such as a backpack, laptop, etc?

If thats the case, there is a sensor in the seat that disables it if a passenger is under a certain weight.

If this isn't the case, well, then its probably something else that I couldn't answer.

Hope this is some help...

I have the same problem. I've already been at the dealer once about 2weeks ago and they said that my passenger seat was reading negative weight with nobody sitting in it. They said they recalibrated it and it was fine for about a week, now it's doing it again, so I'm taking it back asap. My warranty is about to expire. This thig is a bucket, but I still love it.

Default Mine was 'steering angle sensor' - clockspring'

My airbag warning light was going on... the one in the instrument panel. Mine turned out to be a bad clockspring. It threw a 'communications error' code, and was easily diagnosed by the good dealer in my area. (The bad dealer told me they couldn't find it.)

both doors are off and even when there is someone in the seat I don't think I have a switch to turn off the bag it comes on and goes off when it wants to. usually comes on sometimes when brakes are applied sometimes doesn't was told by two dealrships it was fine just a sensor somewhere needed to be corrected but no one knows where to fix it in a timely manner

My new Impala does the same thing, slap the passenger seat cushion a few times with the palm of your hand, it should reset... make sure the old lady ain't sitting there

I just had the dealership replace (under warranty) my ITP computer. I think thats what its called? After doing so my airbag light is also now on. They said no big deal, can bring it in some other time, but if I have an accident right now, are my passengers SOL?

I asked my dealer if the bags would deploy they said there are no problems they say and should work like they are supposed to. key word being SHOULD Hmmmm guess he is some psyc that knows it will work. Who knows but for them to keep it over night is more of an inconvience for me right now. Maybe when I'm not to busy they can get it.

My airbag light came on ever since I took the seats out and drove it to Line-X. I put the seats back in and pluged them up thinking all would go back to normal but the light continues...

Ummm I just ignore it. Not letting the dealer touch the jeep unless something stops working.
