air condition not working
I have had the compressor replaced once and the a/c clutch is still noisy at times. The air is no where as cool in my previous wranglers. Has anyone else had similar problems?
Haven't used my a/c yet. Just take off roof. ;-)
Worked when I tested it 3 weeks ago when I bought my JK.
The a/c in my Sebring wasn't working so I traded it in for a JK! That's how I fixed the problem.

Yes.. My air quit working in the 1st week... They replaced the clutch etc. Now My air is not as cold as it was before... Any suggestions ??
I just returned from the dealership and had the servcie manager ride with me. I could not replicate 1 of the 2 problems.
The first problem was when the A/C clutch engages sometimes it makes a horrible sound (as if something was coming a part underneath the hood). It usually happens when I first start the engine and then engage the a/c. The SM was out when I initially brought it in last week. His shop replaced the whole compressor.
Today, the SM stated that they have been having this problem for several years with the Dodge Caravan and some of the trucks for several years and the Manufacturer has not addressed it. And they are starting to see it in the J/K
The second problem was that the unit was not blowing cold. The thermometer was reading arounc 60 degrees. The SM (service manager) said that it should be blowing close to 45 degrees.
The shop was slammed so I am taking it back in a couple of days to have the system flushed and recharged.
As we start to get into warmer summer months, I am sure we will see more of this issue. Hopefully a TSB will be issued. Who knows.

My jeep is at the dealer as we speak. One of the issues I brought up was lack of cold air for the AC.
They just called a while back saying my winch was source of the problem
They said i broke off some kind of clip, even the service writer was vague in this "clip". He was gonna get back to me and quote me a cost since it wasnt warranty work. Ive had enough time to stew about it this afternoon to really question his "clip" diagnosis next time he calls.
I ran the winch wires myself, I dont recall passing by any AC controls. I wired it nice and neat along the passenger side up against the sidewall.
Oh well, Who knows maybe I did break something?

BUT IN REALITY.. it doesnt have anything to do with screwing up your Jeep..
The computer in your Jeep monitors a lot of functions.. it might know the current output ie: amperage etc.
BUT it doesnt know what you add to the batt posts, or monitor that.. short of a short..!!: "sic"
SO don't let them BUFFALO YOU...
Stand up to thenm and say..Bullsh*t.....
They will have to stand down.. If for some reason they persist.. You can go strait to DC.. and they(the Dealer) will hate that.
