Default Air Filter Clean?

Whenever i take my jk for maintenance, the invoice notes "Air filter cleaning". Does this looks like a recently cleaned air filter?

I ask because it may not be all white ever again after cleaning it. But, does it looks like recently cleaned? How am i suppossed to clean it if i need to?

Thnx

It doesn't look clean to me but maybe I am not understanding the service. On my other vehicles when service notes the air filter in the service report it means they swapped it out for a new one. Early on they would give me the old filter in a zip lock as well.

Maybe it means cleaning the vents and not the filter? Just guessing.

That should be white if you just had it serviced. Either they didn't replace it or you drove through a coal mine blast and about 100 miles behind someone on a gravel road. I would suggest changing it yourself and then put a mark it somewhere and get it serviced again. Then pull the filter right away and see if they changed it. If it still had your mark after that I would open up a can of spinich and talk to the manager. Also might want to start marking your oil filter if you think they aren't changing your air filter.

The thing is that the service report states "AIR FILTER CLEANING"... not replacing. :/ but doesn't look like they cleaned it either.

they probably just spray air on it... just get a new one.. only 10 to 20$ max.. k&n got one washable too.. just buy the stuff, spray the filter, let sit 10 min, rinse.. let dry!

other than that just get a new one and swap whenever needed..

lol makes me think of when i bought a saturn from a dealership.. i was in a rush cause it was friday and i needed the car right now cause the tranny broke down on my other car... long story anyways.. so i look at it chek a few thing, all fluid.. that engine just shines..

then i open the air box, look at the filter, i found rocks, gravel on top and under the filter, i look at the salesman and im like wtf? hes like.. wow.. someone is getting fired right now!

they fired the guy, took the air box out and throttle body, clean them, put a new filter in, all that for free.. then i jumped in the car and drove across Canada

This is mostly their way of cleaning, a couple blasts of compressed air. If they charged you anything for that, I'd be pissed.
Nothing against doing something like this on or right after a dusty trail, but it should be replaced as part of reg maintenace when dirty, or as advised, a k&n reusable.

No, they didn't charge anything. I was searching online and service schedule states changing the filter at the 30,000 mile service, nothing before... Feels like a lot.
