Default airbag light and chime dinging!

Went up the mountain sunday and ran into heavy mud and snow. ALl of a sudden my airbag lights goes off along with the "ding!" Now it comes on and off at random every few seconds and ding ding....ding....ding ding... all the way down the road. Any ideas? First guess was clock spring/slip ring since i was sawing through the mud a lot. but no ESP light.

i also scanned it for codes....nothing stored.

When it comes to airbag issues , it is best to bring it to the dealer, for safety issues. Not many folks will say differently. On my be-half I have not expierenced any issues as you described. Maybe water got into some of the electronics. Let us know your findings on here.

Just took mine in for the same thing the said it was a bad module but it was gonna take them a week to get one and I was leaving for out of town so I drive off and the light hasn't been seen since however I've had every other light in the dash come on one at a time and I have never been wheeling in my jeep I'm waiting to get back home to take it back in

Does anyone know if the horn and cruise control can still work if the clock spring is bad? I would think my clock spring is bad because the light comes on when I turn the wheel and turns off when I straighten it, but the other stuff still works fine.

there are multiple lines in the clock spring.. not all of them have to go bad at once.. so some things might still work nornally whikle others do not
