Default airbag light in dash going on and off??????

This just happened a minute ago and honestly, I'm confused. I have not taken the doors off in a week or more and have not done any tinkering under the hood or elsewhere recently either. Throw me a frickin bone here.

what model year is your Jeep?

If it's a 2007, it may have a sensor in the front passenger seat that senses if something is sitting in the seat but not quite heavy enough to be the "right" weight for the airbag and turns it off, lighting up the light.

do you have something in the seat that could be close to the weight and rocking back and forth causing it to go on and off?

on 2nd thought, that might not make the light in the dash go on/off, may just be in the control panel in the center console, but worth mentioning anyway.

A code scanner with the ability to read the airbag system should show a code.

EDIT: possibly the built-in code ability of the JK would show the code?

I had this problem and still do from time to time. It's the plug under the seat. Sometimes it works loose and you just need to push it into the socket.
