Default Am I crazy?

Thinking about trading in my sweet 07 Rubi 2 door with 45K miles on a sweet new 11 Sport 4 door. The only thing the Sport is missing is locking diffs, 4:11s and electric swaybar disco. I'll add the locker, gears and quick disconnect. They want $3K down and my payment is
about the same at $335/month. Kinda need the extra cargo space and like the Sport ride and interior. Love my Rubi,
haven't had any of the 07 bugs. It needs tires and a lift so I'm spendin' the $3K either way. Have you driven a 11?
What do you folks think?

I did the same thing, well ok had a 2007 2 dr. sahara with 27000 miles on it. I needed the 4dr. When my son was born. I'm glad I did it. So much more manageable with child. I do regret that I didn't wait till 2012. I got the new interior but not the engine.

I would hate going from the rubi to the sport though? It will cost you more to make it similar to the rubi than just getting a rubi, less mods to do.

Default I was almost crazy.

Haven't driven a 12 yet. And it ain't a firesale on the 11's yet.

Would have to drive the tires off the new one before any mods.

Thanks guys.....More research is required....Glad I walked outa that showroom tonight.

With both axles locked it don't wanna turn, it don't wanna stop and it's hard to get stuck. Got stuck last year in 3 1/2 feet of
snow trying to get out of my driveway. Had the front axle locked and it wouldn't turn so I had to let off the gas and sank into it. Learned: sometimes you don't lock the front. That's the only time I've had to dig out.

Your not crazy Just undecided. if you need the room and cargo space with the kids its not a bad idea just check out all options first maybe the 2012 will fit your needs better but then again maybe this 2011 is calling to you for a purpose

How into offroading are you? If you wheel alot id go for the 11. The same aftermarket as your 07... The 12 motor brings on new problems. Look at the thread wayoflife posted. Good info on the undercarrage. Looks like anything over a 2" lift means new drive shaft and also a new tranny skid is a must (which isnt out yet) The skid will increase heat meaning a new tranny cooler.

If you dont offroad alot Id say get the 12.

I love the UL so dont be shy about pulling the trigger if you need the room. Maybe wait and see if you actually need the room? Us americans in general always get more room in everything then we actually use. The idea of no car payment is always lovely. the new vehicle brings on a longer payment term too

Yeah, I've seen a picture of a new tranny/oil pan skid installed on a 2012 on one of the JK members rides that he posted last week from, I forget, the name of the company - they were installed their lift kit at the same time. So, there's one available that I know of already, It looks nice too.
