Another C2200 ABS Control Module Thread
Hi everyone. I had the 4 dash lights come on last night. Pulled the code using BlueDriver, gave me the C2200 code ABS Control Module.
Went back and read a few threads where it looked like my good friends Mr. T and EHarris have some experience with this one. I'm going to start by trying to clear the code like Mr. T posted previously <snip> C2200–ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE INTERNAL For a complete wiring diagram Refer to Section 8W. Anyone got a good website, so I can get the correct Mopar P/N for my ABS Control module? I read that after replacing the module it needs to be taken to the dealership to have your VIN programmed into it. Is that true or are there some tools such as OBD JScan which could do it? Any tips on replacing the module? Can you remove the brake lines without having to bleed the brakes? etc? |

I'm starting to wonder if these things have a different P/N per model year or something? I ended up plugging in my JK's info, 2009 Sahara, JKU, etc into this mopar website and it came back with 68049852AB, link below. https://www.moparsalesdirect.com/oem...ule-68049852ab I did a search on Ebay for the 68049852AB P/N and the descriptions came back as "Fits 2009 Jeep Wrangler". From a previous discussion, when EHarris was looking up the P/N for his 2008, he came up with 68030936AB Now for your 2010 it's showing 68067458AA? ABS Control Module PN Summary 2008(EHarris): 68030936AB 2009(Rednroll): 68049852AB 2010 (Karls10jk): 68067458AA Odd how the P/Ns are so different. |
I'm sorry, I forget you've got an 09 instead of the 10. It is odd that they'd change the numbers so much through the years.

Hi all,
I'm back at this again. My brakes haven't been right since I've seen this code and reset the lights. Although, the lights or code have never come back I'm feeling I still need to replace the ABS module. My driver side front caliper has been seizing up/sticking. I just finished bleeding the brakes, noticed brake fluid was pretty low in the process, then cleaning and lubing calipers, swapped calipers in front to see if seizing would follow caliper. Now neither caliper is seizing but driver front seems to not be engaging and when I was trying to bleed that caliper I was definitely struggling to get air out of it, as well as pull any fluid through it, unlike all the other calipers. Any suggestions on the most inexpensive path to take to replace ABS control module? I understand the ABS control module needs to be programmed with your VIN after replacement. I could have sworn I was watching a repair video where they showed they could order the part from someone on Ebay and provide the VIN and the vendor would program it for you ahead of shipment. Was I just imagining this because I can't find it now? Anyway to program yourself with J-scan? |
A while back, I had the lights and code you show in the first post. Cleared it several times and it kept coming back.
The fix, according to the book, is to replace the ABS control module because of an internal fault. Before committing to that trouble and expense, I thought I'd try something a lot cheaper. I unplugged the harness from the module, sprayed some DeOxit into each side of the connector, gave it a few minutes to soak, reconnected the harness, and have not had the code or lights come on since. I've had other codes come on the last year or so, and cleaning grounds and connectors has fixed it each time. |

I've been reading a lot of posts on this part where one of them mentioned if you clear the code and then if it comes back, then the module is bricked which has me confused since I've never experienced anything like that with codes in the past. Mine hasn't come back on in months, but have definitely been having troubles with the driver front brakes. Can't afford at this point to be throwing parts at it and am really trying to figure out a way to confirm if the ABS module needs to be replaced or not. It's not an inexpensive fix like you mention. Seems odd the lights or code haven't come back after resetting it the first time if it is the abs module. Think my plan for today will be. 1. Pull fuses J6, J7, M15 and M28 to again reset ABS module 2. Disconnect DeOxit ABS connector 3. Attempt to bleed driver front caliper. |
Sounds like the rubber hose between the hard line and your caliber on your driver's side needs replaced. They tend to brake down internally causing your caliber to be slow to apply and release. They may look fine on the outside.
